Biography

In addition to my work with New Day Leadership, I currently serve Grace Felllowship Church, Kinston, NC as the Associate Pastor of Family Ministries.

I have also served Mount Olive College as an adjunct in the Department of Religion and Tillman School of Buisness, as well as in its Office of Institutional Advancement. Prior to this I served Covenant Church, Winterville, NC for twelve years and gave leadership in the areas of facility expansion planning and management, capital campaign, team building, young adults and communications. Previous involvement at Covenant has also included student, adult learning, men's and small group ministries - as well as many aspects of the church's strategic planning. I have also been honored to have served on the instructional staff of Duke University's Nonprofit Organizational Leadership Program.

In 2002, I returned to Regent University to become a part of the School of Leadership Studies community and pursue the Doctor of Strategic Leadership- which I completed in the Spring of 2006. My "DSL" studies emphasized transformational leadership’s ability to foster self-directed team collaboration and result in organizational renewal. I have also completed a Master of Arts from Regent University (1994) and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Olive College (1992).

Additional highlights in my learning experiences include facilitating the process for master planning a 51 acre campus, resourcing the stewardship campaign to develop the first phase of that campus and raise $5.2m, founding/renewing student ministries for three congregations, assisting in the leadership of national and international mission trips, studying in Israel, and attending a plethora of national leadership and ministry conferences.

Oh yeah, and being a husband and dad of three – whew, what a learning curve there too.

I am also highly enthused to have been employed Regent University (Graduate Assistant), Heaven and Earth Bookstores (Retail Associate), and Mount Olive Pickle Company (Production Planning Assistant).

I enjoy family time, woodworking, photography, wild bird care, gardening, fitness swimming, and traveling as often as possible to Virginia Beach as well as Boone and Wilmington, NC.

I welcome your thoughts, comments and questions. Thanks for viewing my information and considering New Day Leadership.
